Envy Ah Wang
Though you might not have the healthiest lungs,
you breathe the easiest.
Though you might not have the largest land to roam,
you roam the free'est.
Though you might not command the best vocabulary,
you shout your mind.
Though you do not have worldly desires,
you do not need them anyway.
Though you do not have the best looks,
you need not hide anything at all.
Though you have your down times,
you need not suppress them.
People have no intentions on you, no expectations of you, no deadlines for you, no scheme against you.
They have only love and care for you.

Nothing to dream of
A television programme mentioned the problem with the working generation these days. On why they chose to strike out on career instead of marital affairs. What caught my ears is a certain guest, who claimed that the working generation nowadays are trying to balance work, ambition, hobby and relations at the same time. They are filled with drive to achieve and juggle as many as they could.
My heart kind of sank slightly. Well, not just slightly. The situation I'm in now, there is not much I could juggle except my own work, my co-worker's work and my boss's wish (read: command). I have no time for hobbies, no social circle for much relation, no ambition to dream of (the more I dream, the more clearly I see that distance getting farther), but I have a lot of work (read: shit).
Tomorrow is a public holidays. I would like to dedicate my prayers for a good afterlife to the sheep's whose lives are going to be ended for it.

Goodbye my Rose
It finally dawn on me that Rose has left me physically, for good (15/7/2013).
She had a memorial service and a one day funeral at the place she called home for the last 15 years. I fought back all my tears and went on the day being busy over whatever needs to be done. Washing her carcass, draining her body fluid, blowing her fur dry, scenting her, setting up her resting place, praying and getting some blessed flowers from a temple, digging her grave, etc.. I practically had no time to be sad.
Yet today, when I finally hold on to the fur I instructed zz to snip off from Rose, I realised that what I am holding on to, is the only physical thing left of Rose.
At this point, my nose is heating up, tears welling up in my eyes.
Thank you, Rose. You have unconditionally trusted me and brought me endless happiness. Even though you have left to find Apple, Ger Ger, Peter, Ah Orh, The Cemerlang Canines and your mountain of treats, you will live in my memory for good. I love you, Rose.

Dog Run
I got a lot at carpark 1B > I shall go for a run.
And I was rewarded for a decision well made.
I passed farm mart, and carried on down slope. Someone was barking with excitement. He was all alone standing faithfully at the main entrance of a certain farm. He caught sight of me and stood at attention, tails erected. I stopped in my track and squatted down and showed him both my palms, he started to wag his tail. He came to me and rub his face closer when I caressed him on the face. When I stood up and clapped, he jumped and stood on his hinds. I caught him on his hands and tango'ed him about. What great fun!
I carried on my run, only to realise this boy wished to follow. And so he did for the next 300 metres or so, which became the happiest stretch of run in my life till date.
When I see him went into the bush to fuel his curiosity, I quickly sprinted towards the traffic light and crossed it. I had to shake him off.
I am really sorry. I really do not wish for you to enter the urban world across the street. Please forgive me, I will be back again.

"She held on to my hands and pressed her head into whichever part of me within her reach, as we made out way to the clinic for the third time that day."
It has been a disturbing day the whole of yesterday. I see gore, blood, innards. It's not everyday that one can see what's usually on the big screens in real life. Ah Niu went into a fight somewhere with someone (or the plural of someone) and got himself a big nasty wound at the back of his head. The wound has not healed since and he refused to be taken to the doctor. He is now Rotted Niu".
Saima has been previously warded into the clinic for a dislodged rectum due to hookworms infection in her digestive system. The specifics of it shall not be discussed. The rectum got pushed back in and the hookworm got treated, and she was discharged in our second visit to the clinic yesterday. Lo and behold, within 3 hours of her discharge, what was pushed back into her, exited again. I would not say they came out of the anus because quite frankly, nothing really came off, its the same things along the same system that happens to be in a different place. I would think of it as a sock turned inside out.
Without a choice, we have to bring Saima back to the clinic, and she is staying there, again. We forgot to bring along her leftover medication from the last warding and told the doctor we will be returning later to get that done. Saima was slightly trembling - I don't know whether it's the air-con or her mood - throughout the journey. She held on to my hands and pressed her head into whichever part of me within her reach, as we made out way to the clinic for the third time that day.
We returned with the medicine in our final trip for the day and Dr Jemmy had to break to us a news that would crack our heart and shatter our wallets. Saima has to undergo a surgery. Her digestive tract has to be drawn inwards to toward the stomach and sewn there as the recurring problems no longer has a solution. We agreed to the procedure after some serious questioning by Seamonkey.
As I typed now, Saima is probably on her way to the medical centre at Nusa.
p.s. Saima will also be spayed in the same procedure.

Before I leave
In the final hours before setting off for the land of smiles' city of angels, I got 2 calls from the event planners of a customer. It was irritating. Very irritating. I wanted to give her a piece of my mind, but I do not want to mess up my own holiday mood.
I woke up the usual time this morning and could not get back to sleep again. I hope I can make up for some eye-shut later on the plane. Some inauspicious thought ran through my mind last night when I left in the longing gaze of Rose. Will I be caught in an aircraft accident? Or will I meet with some mishap in the foreign land?
Before I left, I fed Nini-the-cat her favourite pouched fish, patted Rose, Daisy and Ah-Wang, paying particular attention to Rose, the old lady. Topped up the dog's food container. Bought a new pack of Nini's dry food and 3 rows of pouched fish.
What I will worry about? Will Rose be scared dead in another thunderstorm? Will Nini have enough water to drink, lest she drink from the waste water pail? Will there be people feeding Daisy when Ah-Wang finishes her food? Will there be someone opening the gate, asking Ah-Wang to return to the warehouse and not roam outside?
I will return.

Day at farm (16.10.10)
My best friend has a problem, socially. However, I could sum up the entirety of the event in a word - childish. Not that my best friend is childish, but the undergraduates classmates he has are downright childish.
When I hear his narration of the episode, I am engulfed in an amalgam of anger and jest. And to be quite blunt, I actually despise the 'undergraduates' involved. The actions they are responsible for could not have been committed by anyone in excess of a junior college student's intellect.
Today, I went in to the farm. The joy of meeting a new squad of puppies had to be countered with a sad meeting of Rotted Head. When I see him, I am quite distortedly surprised that he is still alive, though I believe that he will not be living for more than 3 days from today. I do not wish to describe what I see here for I do not know who will be reading this.
Ah Gold, as usual, was quite ecstatic to see my arrival at her lodge. And I was just as happy to see her. I thought of how different would her life have been had I smuggled her into Singapore last year. Well, nothing is going to change now. Her home is fixed.
If there is any higher being, please give Rotted Head a clean ending without further suffering.

Saved.. hopefully
Here is something I am not particularly proud of.
On my way home today, I saw a group of Malay girls bringing, from the road to the roadside, an injured cat (let me call it Brindle for namesake). I was concerned, but not enough to go near to them and Brindle. My eyes locked in that direction as I carried on my way to the lift, with the painful cries ringing though my ears.
As I have my dinner, my heart grew heavier, for I became so worried about Brindle. My concern for Brindle became strong enough a driving force as I forgo my insignificant shower and went down to take a look after registering SPCA's telephone number on my phone. Brindle laid there beside an open pack of Whiskas food pouch, the food untouched. I called the SPCA who has already received the same report, albeit having gotten the wrong block number from the previous caller. I filled in more details for the SPCA officer and crossed my fingers.
At 7:35pm, I instinctively took a look downstairs from my flat, and there was the SPCA truck flashing the amber hazard lights. I heard the familiar meowing cries, evidence that Brindle is still alive. My mind finally returned to normal.

On the third day of CNY
I return to office on the third day of Chinese New Year, knowing that it is still a holiday, but my worry for Rose, Daisy and Nini-the-Cat pulls me back. I bought a pack of instant noodles at the Depot Heights Fairprice mart, just in case the food centre is not open yet, or they jack up the price sky high.
Rose was thrilled at the sight of me. She appeared happier than usual. Absence really makes the heart grew fonder. The feeling is mutual. I whistled to Nini, who arrived in 2 minutes from her hide, which I gave up searching for after her frequent attempts to change places. When I topped up her dish. I knew Nini has been doing her job these few days.

Today, I spanked Rose ...
... but in fact, I am the one feeling more of the pain. Rose, Daisy and Nini-the-cat are my 3 best companions in life and I realised that more so after the departure of Apple.
Rose did something disobedient today and despite my repeated showing of displeasure at her dipping or paws into her drinking dish, she ignored. I had to spank her twice, hard, on her butt, till she felt the pain and my seriousness. She then sat 2 metres away from me, looking sad. I know she will be sad, but I will not compromise her health and condone her bad habit. After what seems to be forever, well, in fact, 15 seconds or so, I called her back the usual way and she slowly made her way near. I brought the dish of water in front of her and she drank it with the right mannerism. Feeling satisfied with her performance, I stroked her headful of fur and her mood brightened up.
I believed I could say, "we patched."

Yesterday without picture
It was almost like a one-day holiday yesterday. I came to office, and leave office for Malaysia. I could not have spent more than 1 hour in the office.
At the farm, sector Farmhouse, Sai-Ma has 4 puppies, naughty and bite-ty. One fluffy cow, one Small Lao-da, One black brown, and one fluffy black brown. Hei-ma still has her 2 Ah Blacks (one with white chest hair) and Ah Gold. CheeseProblem has 8 puppies! One of which is a Cow and one is a Chihwahwa.
Over at sector MonitorLizard, the batch of 'Socks' are developing well. Ah Fluff is still as happy with his sister, although he tried some incest moves. Ah Pi is playing fine with them happily. Their latest game is 'going out and coming back from the fence'. There is a new adult dog, Smoker. He tried to smoke into the gang and did that successfully, even ZZ could not tell. Ah Gold and Ah Black went over to sector MonitorLizard to play and Ah Gold got a piercing at his mouth. A fish hook got stuck and he was crying. When we arrived, we quickly disperse the crowd of onlooking dogs and check on his wound. ZZ rushed back to sector Farmhouse with Ah Black and return with a plier. I performed the operation and removed the hook and ZZ send him back to Farmhouse.
At sector Packing area, Orbeen's batch suffered some death. I herded three of the remainders to Farmhouse and feed them. One of them injured the limbs and I had to carry her.
Dinner yesterday was at the farm, and I actually enjoyed it. Supper was at Old Town. Malaysian Immigration jammed. Singapore Immigration moderate. I reached home at 10 30pm. No photos, forgotten to bring along camera.
